Indonesia has a fame of having ancient temples and monuments which is a great attraction for tourists from around the world. Ancient temples are called candi in Indonesia. ‘Borobudur Temple’ or ‘Borobudur Candi’ is one of them.
Apart from its amazing architecture, Borobudur has an extra attraction because of its location. It is located in an elavated area between two twin volcanos and two rivers in Mageland, Central Java, Indonesia. Borobudur is a ninth-century Mahayana Buddihst momument. It has 504 Buddha Statues in it with a main central dome situated at the center of the top platform. Borobudur momument is a sacred place for Buddhist pilgrimage. There are other Buddhist and Hindu temples as well besides Borobudur temple.
