AK-47 is the most widely used firearm in the world according to THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS 2002 EDITION. It was designed by a Russian named Mikhail Kalashnikov during the mid 40s. But Mikhail did not know at that time that his design would be REVERSE ENGINEERED in such a DISGRACEFUL MANNER.
In Pakistan (A South Asian Country) this rifle is being assembled by bare hands and a few very simple machines. They are producing it in bulk and the rifle is being supplied to different parts of the country and also neighboring countries as well. The worst part is that the EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT REVERSE ENGINEERS haven’t got any education at all. They are simply illiterate and do not know a single thing about the design or the complicated things like gas pressure which manages the cycle and other stuff like that. Yet they are making not only the same gun but the rifles speak for their makers as they do not often jam or misfire even if the bullets are not meeting the standards.
It is said that they can reverse engineer any firearm once they see it and can produce it in the span of a few hours. This statement seems true because you can find copies of some famous items of the modern weaponry like BERETTA Pistol, GLOCK Pistol, 1911 Pistol, UZI, G3 Rifle, MP5, even M16 and many more.
Here are some pictures showing different weapons and gun-makers.

Mikhail Kalashnikov designed his rifle during the mid-FOURTIES, hense the designation Automat_Kalashnikov-(19)47, when it was adopted. Otherwise an interesting article.
