Ganges River has got a bulky space in the books of history. It has been a historical river over the years in different eras. HINDUS use this river to perform their Religious duties. They bath in the river, drink the water and some other things. But the thing is that the water of Ganges or Ganga as the HINDUS call it is no more healthy for drinking or bathing. Following pictures will tell the story.

Indian Government should take a serious notice of this otherwise people will pay the price which they are paying at the moment as well.
Following points are a suggestion for Indian Government to solve the issue.
1. Stop people from drinking the Ganges water and bathing in it which can’t be done.
2. Eliminate the pollution sources which also in my opinion can’t be done.
3. The third and somehow achievable solution is that the Government should reserve certain spots on the river and those spots are the only places where people can come and do whatever they want to do. I mean the Religious duties 
. Now these specific parts of the river can be processed or at least supplied with processed water of Ganges so that people don’t have to face serious problems.
Hence dividing the problem into small parts and solving them individually would make it easier. That’s the basic law we study at schools. So why not apply it here and save lives ?

Those are the most ridiculus solutions I have ever heared. Even you noted the first two are not possible. Quote “stating the obvious is like saying nothing only louder”.
Water “flows” or moves from one location to another, how are you going to isolate part of a river? Just, make a lake or swimming pool for your swimming, religious activities. Use water treatment plants to clean your water for drinking and bathing.
It works in the rest of the world, take a look around. Quit trying to re-invent the wheel.
Who cares? It’s India’s problem so let India deal with it. Honestly why should we care? You know there’s pollution in river’s near where I live too, is India going to clean it up? Who posts this garbage?

Next time do more research about the river and the Indian people/rituals before posting some bullshit.
The first image, most Indians are poor and can’t afford a washer/dryer and resort to using local rivers/streams and clothing lines to wash and dry their clothes. So one would expect that those loving close to the Ganges would do so in the Ganges, the image is very common and is a very poor choice for an article trying to show pollution.
The second and third images can be seen just about anywhere in the world, including all over Europe and the United States, but hey, at least you are starting to show something pollution wise.
The fourth image, to me is actually a very beautiful image, the orange things are FLOWERS, used for rituals. This sort of thing can be found all over India, and again is a poor choice for pollution.
The fifth image is again a religious image of a man painting himself and preforming some sort of ritual with the river, not sure where you see pollution in this.
The sixth image isn’t bad, it shows some garbage but again you can do a lot better.
The last 3 images, are all of people doing some sort of religious ritual with the river, and NONE of them are any good at showing the pollution in the river.
You failed at trying to ’show’ the pollution and even your description of the pollution is extremely weak. Next time, actually put some time and effort into and and get pictures of the massive garbage dumps in and nearby the river, or show the slums and children swimming in the river (I’ve actually been there and seen this, though i wish i would have seen your pictures instead of the ones I have). And would it hurt to spend some time looking up facts instead of saying ‘the river is polluted’ and throwing up some images just so you can get some web traffic to your site.

Hey! Its true we can’t stop peoples to use Ganges water but third option can be done. make some spot for holy things and cover that area and clean it every day.So garbage things will not flow with Ganges and use water treatment plant for drinking water.
Same things should be done for all other rivers as well.

The solution is not in designating a part of the river for drinking/bathing etc.
The solution is in education:
- Educating people to understand the risk of infection (e.g. Cholera) and exposure to pollutants.
- Educating people to improve the sewage and water supply infrastructure of the country.
- Educating people to help them contribute to society instead of spending their time next to a polluted river.
- Educating people so they abandon their superstitions about this river.
The racist people commenting here need to check themselves and think how to help their fellow man instead of taking the comforts of the first world for granted.
Why is everyone critisizing indians??? I am not one of them and i dont have a religion but I dont understand how you can say all those things when you dont even fucking know them.
