A doorbell is typically placed near a door. It acts as a signaling device or to mark entry or presence of someone. When the doorbell button is pushed, it emits a ringing sound and alerts the occupants of the building or premises. Majority of the doorbell buttons today are electric.
Doorbell was invented in the year 1831 by Joseph Henry. The doorbell button is usually located at the height of the knob of the door, so that anyone can reach their easily. Today there are many types of doorbells available in the market; they differ in their rhymes of ringing alerts.
