Weird Penis News Roundup: Strange Sex Tales in the Headlines

Posted by Editor On January - 31 - 2011

It’s never felt more dangerous to be a man. Penises are being bitten by rats, chopped right off, shot at, argued about and even (shudder) donated to museums. There’s even a penis snowman in the news… but in keeping with the strangely violent headlines lately, it was torn down.

Or was it just a case of shrinkage?

In case you’re having trouble keeping up, here’s all the penis news you’ll need in one handy (and arousing) post: Read the rest of this entry »

ALT TEXT HERE“I’m king of the world… king of the ARRGGHHHHH!!!!”

I don’t know if that’s how this one unfolded… but that’s how I picture it anyway.

Police in Florida’s Big Coppitt Key near Key West say a Pennsylvania man ran naked through the streets shouting about his apparent global royalty.

Someone apparently forgot to tell the local law enforcement about the ascension of 43-year-old Richard Gervasi to the world throne.

When deputies arrived, he allegedly charged after one… so cops called to the scene shot a taser at him. Read the rest of this entry »

Clothes Made From Used Blow-Up Dolls

Posted by Editor On January - 29 - 2011

A Dutch artist named Sander Reijgers is recycling inflatable sex dolls into the most bizarre clothing. Perfect for a rainy, these waterproof hoodies were made by customizing existing tracksuit tops with heads, breasts and other pieces from 50 blow-up dolls that Sanders received from a “sponsor”.

“These dolls are so ugly and vulgar that turning them into something beautiful has become a challenge for me. The doll is a means to convey something else… it’s near-incomprehensible that people could have sex with something as ugly and lifeless as a blow-up doll. However much air you pump into it, it remains an object that can’t reciprocate the feelings of lust…” says Sander Reijgers. Read the rest of this entry »

26 Brilliant Minimalist Print Ads

Posted by Editor On January - 28 - 2011

Leonardo da Vinci once said: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”, and architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adopted the motto “Less is more” to describe his extreme simplicity, by enlisting every element and detail to serve multiple visual and functional purposes (such as designing a floor to also serve as the radiator, or a massive fireplace to also house the bathroom).

Controversial Sculptures by David Cerny

Posted by Editor On January - 26 - 2011

Continuing our article series about the most creative artists in the world this time we present David Cerny from Czech Republic.

Wikipedia: “David Černý (born December 15, 1967 in Prague) is a Czech sculptor whose works can be seen in many locations in Prague. His works tend to be controversial. He gained notoriety in 1991 by painting a Soviet tank pink that served as a war memorial in central Prague. As the Monument to Soviet tank crews was still a national cultural monument at that time, his act of civil disobedience was considered “hooliganism” and he was briefly arrested.”

He also has a very bizarre website http://www.davidcerny.cz/). Well, happy viewing, and of course don’t forget to comment. Read the rest of this entry »

Jumping Spider Goes to a Photo Session (15 Pictures)

Posted by Editor On January - 25 - 2011

Jumping Spider Goes to a Photo SessionJumping spiders live all around us. In fact, there are more than 4000 different species of jumpers.

The jumping spider can jump 20 to 60 or even 75-80 times the length of their body. If you were just five feet (1.5 m) tall and could jump like that, you could leap over the Buddha statue in Japan which is 328 ft (110 m) tall (one of the world’s tallest statues).

When a jumping spider is moving from place to place, and especially just before it jumps, it tethers a filament of silk to whatever it is standing on. Should it fall for one reason or another, it climbs back up the silk tether.

Weird Toilet Paper Roll Sculptures by Junior Jacquet

Posted by Editor On January - 25 - 2011

Since childhood, Junior Fritz Jacquet is fascinated by the paper. He explores and experiments with different techniques of folding and crumpling to create new forms and poetic objects that decorate his life.

While he makes a lot of different artworks from paper (you can find them here), my attention was caught by his weird toilet paper roll sculptures.

Who could have thought that those toilet paper rolls that we use to throw away into a garbage bin, could be turned into fascinating face sculptures?

Oh, and the best thing is that you can make them while sitting comfortably on your toilet!

Enjoy!

33 Cool and Creative ads (Part I)

Posted by Editor On January - 25 - 2011

While doing this post about cool and creative ads, various thoughts came to my mind. The first one – I want to start my own advertising agency. Why? Because this must be the best job ever – you just create all kind of innovative, funny and odd ideas and get paid for it. Plus, to implement those cool ideas you do photography, illustrations and other creative things, which I just love doing.

Oh, and I had some other thoughts – like, there is a thin line between a good and very bad ad. For example, using cement mixer truck (ad #12) to look like a kebab, might be really creative and eye catchy, but the question is what kind of message does it deliver? In this particular case, the only thing that pops up in my mind is –  those kebabs taste like cement, and that’s a bad, bad advert.

I had even more thoughts, but I think you are getting bored so start scrolling down the ads, and don’t forget to comment!
